YouTube in 2025: How to get clients

In 2025, it's no longer enough to be on social media. It's not enough to release a few videos, hope for an algorithm and wait for a miracle to happen. If you want to make YouTube a real business channel - something that brings you new customers even when you're asleep - you need to be strategic about it.

My name is Jan Drahoš, and I've been helping businesses and entrepreneurs on YouTube for the last two years - not just to get views, but to get results. This is a plan to help you build a channel you can rely on.

1. Long videos: the cornerstone of your channel

The best thing you can do for your business? Release long videos (16:9 format). Not only do they look professional, but more importantly, they allow you to create a parasocial bond - a relationship where the viewer perceives you as a close person. Thanks to this:

they sign up for your newsletter (after about 5 hours of watching),

buy a cheap product (after about 15-20 hours),

and eventually decides to buy your more expensive service (50-100 hours).

Short videos simply can't do this. Start simple: one longer video a week, 6 to 8 minutes long, talking to the camera. Nothing complicated - the key is consistency.

2. Shorts as a gateway

Short videos (YouTube Shorts) have a huge reach, and work great for bringing in new audiences. Whether you're recycling parts of longer videos or creating native short scripts, aim to release them 3-4 times a week.Don't underestimate them - even if they don't immediately bring a deeper relationship, they can be a great tool for getting viewers to find you in the first place.

3. Follow the numbers, not the impressions

"Not many people saw that video..." But why? Analyze. YouTube Studio has metrics that will tell you the truth. Two key ones that I recommend tracking:

Click-Through Rate (CTR) - how many people click on your video when they see it.

Average View Duration - how long they watch the video. Every month, sit down for a moment to do this. Adjust based on results, not feelings.

4. Create a community

Videos are not enough. You need fans, not just casual viewers. How to do it?Publish posts - text, photos, posts. Build a habit. Show that you're a regular here. Fans then look forward to seeing your new video and come at 5:00 on Sunday. These are the people who will then click through to your site or buy your product.

5. Share beyond YouTube

Do you put energy into your videos? Then let the world know about them!Every long video, every short video - get the word out on other networks. Whether it's LinkedIn, Instagram or Facebook - that's where your ideal customers are. From external networks, bring people back to YouTube. YouTube will reward that.

Bonus.

YouTube is not a sprint. It's a marathon. The five steps you just read are not strategies for a month. They're principles for years to come. And if you stick with it, you'll build a platform that will continue to bring you customers five years from now.

Conclusion

YouTube is not just entertainment. It's your digital marketer that can work non-stop. But only if you give it time, strategy and patience.
